Broken Promises

Discounted and 
Dismissed
Words once binding
Now set sail in the wind

What then, I may ask
Is the point of even saying so?
To promise, is to break
Do not say “I promise” anymore

Expectations will not lay
Heavy on this heart
For there will only have ever been
The flow of movement

Never again holding
False Hope
On a promise once so
Neatly packaged up

Within a cage
Masquerading as 
Love and 
Heaven
